A Television Drama

It was early afternoon the day all these crazy events happened. Carolee was in her house, cleaning up. She had absolutely no idea what was happening outside in her neighborhood, but when she realized that there in fact was something going on, she decided to take a look. Standing there in the front room looking out her window, Carolee saw all the police cars, the police men with their dogs, people standing on the outside looking in. There was definitely something going on now. She saw the ambulance, lights flashing, pulling away. Was there someone inside? She decided to look from a different window, and then she saw him. The injured man sitting against one of her hedges. She had no idea if he was still alive, he held his shoulder and when he moved his hand, she saw all of the blood. When he finally got up, he ran. Through their lawn, out to the parking strip. Carolee could not hear anything, but she saw it all. He stood there, stubled and fell to his back. She could hear on the radio, suspect apprehended. What had this man done? Pete had finally come home with a newspaper in hand. They had looked at the paper together trying to piece together all of the information. Pete could tell that Carolee had had a rough day and tried to talk to her about it. Carolee knew that if she had told someone what she had saw that day, the information in the newspaper would have been different. She knew, but for that moment just stood there, with her hand in Petes.
